1) Analyse this RBK 50 Cent advert using the key media language you learned today: denotation, connotation, colour, pose, framing, composition, size, type of shot, subject matter, setting, lighting. The product being advertised is a pair of Reebok trainers, which appears to be aimed at young adults(17-25). The popular rapper 50 cent is used to promote the product as he is  well known and people trust him and his opinions. A close up has been used so we can see 50 cents facial expressions clearly. The darkness of the poster creates tension. The finger prints in the background connote law-breaking. We are given the impression that 50 cents fingerprints have been taken by police as forensic evidence. The darkness and finger prints connote violence and danger. 50 Cent may be associated with crime as well due to his past. 1) What type of text is this? This is an i newspaper front cover. 2) How do you know? What are the key conventions that allowed you to identify the text? The multiple headlines across the page, the price in the top left corner, the bar-code in the bottom left, the newspaper logo in the top left, one main headline in the centre of the cover and multiple pictures surrounding the headlines. 3) In your opinion, who is the target audience? From looking at the cover I think the target audience will be 25 year olds and above. This is because the majority of the headlines are based around politics, elections, mp's etc. A younger group of people(under 18)wouldn't be able to relate as they are unable to vote or have a say so the stories may be of no interest to them. 4) How would the audience access the text?
